Greenwood Festival Chorale receives grant / Christmas Concert Sunday, December 4, 5:30 pm

Mary Woodwiss and Jeff Smith present Greenwood Festival Chorale with a check for Grant to assist with funding the 2016-17 Concert Year.

 

The Greenwood Festival Chorale’s Grant Writer, Nickie Murphy, received a $1,250 grant from the Greenwood Community County Foundation for the 2016-17 Concert Season. The picture above shows the check presentation for the local newspaper to document the grant award.

The Season begins with the Christmas Concert which will be presented this weekend on Sunday, December 4, 2016 on the Lander University Campus in the Josephine B. Abney Cultural Center auditorium at 5:30 pm.

The Chorale will present “For Us a Child is Born” under the direction of Dr. Marion Smith, Artistic Director and Conductor. Special guests include the Palmetto Girls Sing!

Funds for the three-concert season are also received from the SC Arts Commission grants and from sales of ads for the concert programs. Contributions from community individuals are also welcomed each year.
