A program of Choral and instrumental music that embraces love in its many manifestations with texts from Holy Scripture – Set Me as a Seal, Rene Clausen, to West Side Story, Leonard Bernstein. Other works included Three Nocturnes, Wolfgang A. Mozart, Love Song Waltzes, Op 52, Johannes Brahms, Two 17th Century Lyrics, James Quitman Mulholland, Three Mountain Ballads, Ron Nelson, Spring (when love blossoms) and Summer (when love is most ardent) from Antonio Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. The Chorale was accompanied by Piano and Chamber Orchestra, Dr. Marion Smith Artistic Director and Conductor.
Presented on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at 7:30 pm at the Josephine B. Abney Cultural Auditorium at Lander University. This was a sanctioned event of the South Carolina Festival of Flowers Festival with support from the Greenwood County Community Foundation. This early event in the Festival was well received by attendees who commented with delight at both the selection of content and the presentations by the Chorale and members of the Greenville Symphony Orchestra who made up the Chamber Orchestra.
